A Fiction Writing Journey In The Enchanted Castle 9am – 4pm 

Experience a day of inspiration and creativity in the captivating setting of Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum and Gardens.  This one-day fiction writing workshop is designed to help participants unlock their inner storytellers and craft compelling narratives within the walls of this historic castle. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned writer, this workshop will provide a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of fiction writing while surrounded by the magic of history.  

It will begin with a short tour of certain parts of the house by the resident tour guide to explore narrative possibilities.  

The workshop will outline the fundamentals of fiction writing which will include: 

• The Power of Setting the Scene 
• The Craft of Character Development 
• Plotting 
• The Art of dialogue 

This workshop will be led by Sheila Forsey an Irish Times best- selling author of historical fiction. Sheila is also a creative writing tutor with many organisations including  the writers in school scheme with Poetry Ireland funded by The Arts Council.  

Tea and coffee will be provided and lunch can be purchased in the café where a table will be reserved.
