We look forward to welcoming you when you visit Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens.
There is so much to explore around the Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens for visitors of all ages! Allow yourself time to tour the spectacular neo-Gothic Irish castle, connect with the heritage of rural Ireland at the Irish Agricultural Museum, and explore our gardens and lakeside walks, all fully wheelchair accessible.
If you’re looking for peace and tranquillity, you’ll always find it on a day out in Johnstown’s impressive grounds. For our youngest and most adventurous visitors the nature playground is a lovely place to have some fun. And, after all your exploring, you can relax at the lovely Peacock Café in our Visitor Centre.
There is no need to book your visit to the Gardens or Irish Agricultural Museum, where you can take self-guided tours. However, it is recommended to pre-book the Castle Tours, which run daily;
Please allow 10 minutes to walk from the Visitor Centre to Johnstown Castle, so that you arrive in time for your pre-booked castle tour.
** Please be aware that works are currently taking place to restore and conserve all the windows of Johnstown Castle. The works WILL NOT affect the running of our daily guided tours of the Castle. We look forward to the works being completed and the windows being restored to their former glory in the coming months.
