Friends of Rathaspeck Church Launch
May 20 @ 19:15 - 21:00

The Friends of Rathaspeck Church invite you to a special evening event to celebrate the launch of their ambitious restoration project. This dedicated group of local volunteers has come together with the shared vision of restoring Rathaspeck Church to its former glory, preserving it for future generations, and revitalising it as a space for community and cultural use.
Rathaspeck Church holds deep historical significance, having been supported in the 1800s by the Grogan Morgans of Johnstown Castle. Now, thanks to a generous €100,620 grant from the Historic Structure Fund 2025, and a matching local fundraising target, this beloved building is set to be brought back to life.
The evening will feature presentations from five speakers, including Matt Wheeler (Johnstown Castle & Irish Heritage Trust), Colm Moriarty (Heritage Officer), Francoise Davison, Hugh Barrett, and Stanley McDonald, who will share insights into the church’s past, the importance of heritage conservation, and the exciting plans for its future.
Everyone is welcome to attend this inspiring community event. Come along to learn more, show your support, and enjoy an evening of heritage, conversation, and community.
Doors open at 19:15 – Visitor Centre | Food and refreshments available
