Jazz at Johnstown Presents: CHARLIE MOON
October 30 @ 20:00 - 22:30

Rising star of Irish jazz is Johnstown Castle bound.
Acclaimed as a “rising star” of Irish jazz by The Irish Times, Charlie Moon stands out as a singular voice in the realms of cool jazz, blues, and soul jazz.
His unique approach to the guitar draws inspiration from luminaries like Grant Green and Peter Bernstein, while his vocal stylings reflect influences from jazz icons such as Frank Sinatra and Chet Baker.
Joining Charlie at this special Jazz at Johnstown Hallowe’en concert is the fabulous double bassist Cormac O’Brien, renowned for his versatility as a performer on the international jazz and contemporary music scene.
They are accompanied by Darragh Hennessy on piano and Shane O’Donovan on drums: all have worked with major Irish and international talents, including Louis Stewart, Jim Doherty, Hugh Buckley, Mary Coughlan, Ernie Watts, Nigel Mooney, Jean Toussaint, Kenny Werner, Rick Margitza and many more.
Look forward to a repertoire of music from the likes of Chet Baker, George Benson, Frank Sinatra, along with 1950s and 1960s hard-bop.
