The Irish Great War Society

The Irish Great War Society is a living history group dedicated to the remembrance and education of those who fought and died in the Great War.
They will be displaying an exhibit in front of the castle on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August. The group wears the Uniforms and carry the Equipment of the period, display original memorabilia, demonstrate the firearms and other equipment used in battle. The society will also have a Medical Display Aid Station showing the equipment and medicines available at the time.
They will engage with members of the public to hear stories of their relatives and exchange information on those who fought in WW1.
This is a free event upon general admission to the estate and gardens and free for members.
