The Irish Heritage Trust is a registered charity. That means all of our work to preserve and enhance Johnstown and its environment is carried out on a non-profit basis, in consultation with heritage experts and the Irish Heritage Trust Board.

Beautiful Place

Loved our visit to Johnstown Castle. We had such a lovely afternoon. The icing on the cake was being able to visit the Castle itself thanks to a very kind gentleman and guide Milo. He is an excellent guide and the history is amazing. The grounds are fabulous as is the Museum. I would highly recommend a visit.

Cracking Day Out

We had an absolutely cracking day out in Johnstown Castle yesterday , gardens amazing so much to see and so relaxing and tranquil, did the tour with our very informative guide Mylo who has an incredible amount of knowledge of the history of the castle so interesting, I learned so much on that tour, best tour I have ever been on , relaxed in the lovely coffee shop which is very well stocked with lovely snacks , all in all super , well done to everyone involved in the upkeep of this wonderful National Treasure.

Great Tour and Beautiful Gardens

We spent a lovely afternoon here. There is an agricultural museum with a Famine exhibition that is very interesting. The castle tour is excellent. We had two very enthusiastic tour guides who were happy to answer our questions. The gardens and lakes are panoramic. I’d highly recommend a visit.
