Dress to Impress: a Fashion History Through Johnstown Castle’s Family Portraits
July 25 @ 11:00 - 12:00

Historian and tour guide Ciarán Hurley takes audiences on a journey through 100 years of high fashion, showcasing the highest collars, the widest skirts, and even the fashions that could kill.
Using portraits of Johnstown Castle’s own Grogan-Morgan family as a guide, Ciarán explores the changing styles of the Victorian era and reveals how fashion reflected status, wealth, and ambition from impressing queens to astonishing peasants.
*Please note that this event takes place in the ballroom of the castle which is a short walk from reception. Please allow time for this when checking in.*
