We are delighted to welcome you to our 2nd Annual Garden Fair, a celebration of gardening, nature, and community. This year’s programme features three fantastic guest speakers: Vick Ind from Individual Plant Nursery, Colin Jones of Salter Bridge, and Collie Ennis, Biodiversity Officer at Trinity College Dublin. Their talks will offer practical gardening tips, horticultural expertise, and fascinating insights into biodiversity, making it a great day out for gardeners and nature lovers alike. ‘HOW TO BE A BAD GARDENER’
Vick is a freelance horticulturist who runs Individual Plants Nursery, where she grows rare & unusual plants.
In this talk she will discuss her own experiences as a gardener and grower who works to ensure nature is embraced and encouraged on her nursery site and in the gardens she works in and will explain how being a “bad gardener” is actually ok, if you’re bad in a good way!

‘CULTIVATING COLOUR: THE SALTERBRIDGE CUTTING GARDEN’
The talk will tell the story of developing an area of the garden from a neglected lawn with a few random trees into the High Summer Showstopper of Salterbridge Garden that provides cut flowers for the house and other local events.

13:45 – 14:45 | Collie Ennis, Trinity College Dublin Biodiversity Officer
Collie Ennis is the Biodiversity Officer at Trinity College Dublin, where he leads projects to enhance biodiversity across the university campus.
In his talk, Collie will share how initiatives such as creating wildflower meadows and ponds, building habitats with deadwood, and adopting wildlife-friendly management practices can be adapted for gardens and community spaces of any size.
He will also shine a light on some of the fascinating yet often misunderstood wildlife we share our surroundings with, including frogs, insects, and other small creatures, demonstrating how simple changes can make a significant difference for biodiversity. Packed with practical advice and real-life examples, this inspiring talk will leave you with plenty of ideas to take home and put into practice.
