Johnstown Castle Annual Garden Fair

Spend a summer’s day surrounded by beautiful gardens, expert growers, inspiring talks and the great outdoors in one of Ireland’s most beautiful heritage settings.

Returning after a hugely successful inaugural year, the Johnstown Castle Garden Fair takes place on Sunday 12th July, bringing together some of Ireland’s finest specialist nurseries, expert horticulturists, artisans and garden enthusiasts for a celebration of gardening, biodiversity and the great outdoors.

Located just 10 minutes from Wexford Town, with on-site parking and easy access, it’s the perfect day out. Come for the plants, but stay to explore the gardens, lake walks, castle, Irish Agricultural Museum, and peaceful picnic spots.

What to Expect

Plant Nurseries

Browse an exceptional selection of plants from 20specialist nurseries from across Ireland, including award-winning growers, offering everything from rare perennials and native Irish plants to cottage garden favourites and expert advice.

Fresh from winning a gold medal at Bloom 2026, Wexford’s Kilmurray Nursery will be among those taking part, joining Ballyvaldon Nursery, Boyne Garden Centre and Nursery, Camolin Potting Shed, Coldblow Nursery, Fota House and Gardens, Gash Gardens & Nursery, Hawthorn Vintage & Garden, Individual Plant Nursery,  Irish Fuchsia Nursery, Kildalton College Nursery, Leaf and Petal, Railstown Plants, Rare Plants Ireland, Shady Plants, Síle Farm & Nursery, Smarty Plants, Two Sisters Perennials and Lieke’s Natural Way,  alongside Johnstown Castle’s own nursery.

Garden & Craft Stalls

Discover beautifully crafted garden and lifestyle products from a carefully selected range of artisan exhibitors, including botanical artist Lynn Stringer, Baurnafea Studio, Mulhall Obelisks, Rarebits, Tara Hill Honey, Leur Home,  Mara Botanics, Model County Outdoor Living and Sarah Largue providing inspiration and beautiful additions for homes and gardens.

Visit the Wexford Flower and Garden Club for expert information and live flower arranging demonstrations at 10:15am and 1:15pm.

Guest Speakers & Garden Talks

Throughout the day, a dedicated speakers’ tent will host a series of gardening and nature talks and demonstrations. Guests can enjoy presentations from the Wexford Flower and Garden Club, Vick Ind of Individual Plant Nursery, Colin Jones of Salter Bridge Estate, and renowned biodiversity expert and Trinity College Biodiversity Officer Collie Ennis.

Food & Refreshments

A tempting selection of food offerings from Eoghan’s Eats and The Clovelly, together with the Johnstown Estate Peacock Café, will ensure there are plenty of delicious treats to savour while visitors can relax and soak up the atmosphere.

With live music, delicious food and refreshments, and the spectacular surroundings of Johnstown Castle as your backdrop, it’s an event designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.
