Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens is cared for by the Irish Heritage Trust who conserve and maintain a number of special heritage places for the enjoyment of all.
The Irish Heritage Trust takes care of the visitor experience and education programmes here at Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum & Gardens. It is also responsible for conservation, restoration, and maintenance work.
Its care for the collections and visitor experience at our Irish Agricultural Museum has been recognised with Museum Standards accreditation. The Trust also spearheads the impressive volunteering programme, which has reconnected the estate with the local community.
What is the Irish Heritage Trust?
The Irish Heritage Trust is an independent non-profit committed to protecting and conserving special heritage places for the enjoyment of all.
Membership is a wonderful way to support Irish heritage conservation at some of wonderful houses, gardens, and museums.
Benefits include year-round access to each of the Irish Heritage Trust’s properties – Johnstown Castle, Fota House, and Strokestown Park House. This includes entry to the Irish Agricultural Museum here at Johnstown Castle Estate and the National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park, Roscommon.
